Mama Negra Tomorrow
We were invited by our neigbors to go with them to a yearly event called La Mama Negra. It is a cultural event that goes on in Latacunga, Ecuador that seems to be a mix between native and cultural animism and Catholocism. It should be very interesting and we’ll be sure to post a video or at least some pictures.
Compassion Connection has purhased some property near the town and are planning on moving there within the next two years, and so we are working on getting to know the culture and the community so that we can bless them and effectively share the gospel with them. Pray for us as we begin to explore ways of doing that.

That’s really cool. What is the history and point of Mama Negra? What are they celebrating? Is it a holiday that’s embraced by the Christian community down there?
I’ve got a video put together that I’ll upload tomorrow. It’s uploading right now but taking for ever but it’s definitely worth the wait! It was a crazy festival and only increased our desire to find ways of working in Latacunga. The video will explain everything.
Super-Duper web site! I am loving it!! Will arrive back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.
